The Family Club

has 7 times the satanic odor of the Bohemian.

he Family Club was originally formed by Hearst reporters expelled from the Bohemian Club for "weaving" plots and conspiracies.

There is a ton of stuff on the Boho Club.

There is virtually NOTHING on The Family.

NEWSOME PELOSI BROWN all members.

701 Bush Street San Francisco

From Archive:

The Family is about to get next to nature. Not in a slangy sen.«c, but in reality, for the Family, the club of business and sociable men, has just concluded negotiations- for the purchase of 30 acres of select land in the Portola valley, San Mateo county, west of Redwood City and not far from Woodside. This is to be the Family farm.

There is a historic interest attached to the place, for the land is near the peak on which Gaspar Portola stood and first saw San Francisco bay.

The\analogy will be when the members of the Family stand on the identical peak when, the quiet colored end of 'evening smiles, miles and miles, and their sheep, half asleep, tinkle homeward through the twilight, and so on, and see, for the first time, their own cabbages growing-.

The Family secured an option on the property last December and the purchase'was made last week. The price paid was $300 an acre, $15,000 for the tract. The object of the club is to have a country place, where the members may retreat in the summer . for quiet weekends and where, outdoors, midsummer jinks may be held. There -t*r plenty ;of standing redwood on the place and under the great trees in summer the members will pitch. their tents 1 and he secluded and -happy.' .' j

The agricultural side of the farm will not be neglected, and a practical farmer; has been 'engaged -to>, oversee that part of the work The club. will keep' cows and will allow ; members in good standing to milk them. ;
