I have to agree with anons sentiment on last bread that this is beginning to 'feel' like family. FAMILY is what is missing and rapidly waning in our fast changing society.

though dogs don't have to be part of his family, I might suggest they do show us what unconditional love truly is.
That is an important thing to experience.
I get that dogs are part of the signals and narrative these days
having to put a loved one down is not something to take lightly. I miss my brood and haven't had a dog since- that would be almost 29 years now.
Too much heartbreak.
