To the sweet anon that had to put her dog down: Your post touched me greatly. I can think of nothing here on earth that is able to show unconditional love 24/7 like our pets. I believe they are a gift from God sent to help us through the challenges we come up against in this life. I too had to put my kitty down about 8 days ago & haven’t been able to speak about it yet to anyone but God. I thought I was taking in a cat to get medicine because he’d stopped eating & was told he needed to be put down the next day. Zero preparation, young 3 yr old. Couldn’t give him anything for pain because of his kidneys so he was suffering greatly. I told them if they didn’t give me a night at home with him so I could tell him goodbye they would have to put me in the hospital. I have to go to bed to get ready for minor surgery or I would list some of the Bible verses I found that reassured me our precious pets are being loved & cared for until we see them again. Believe it or not I was already praying for you before I knew your story. I had asked God to comfort all the people dealing with the same pain I was feeling from losing a pet. I will pray specifically for you tonight. I hate grief more than anything else because there’s no way around it. Please know you are being thought of.
