"A former Philadelphia Police Department detective was arrested Tuesday morning after he was accused of grooming male witnesses and suspects for sexual assault for more than a decade.

Philip Nordo, 52, allegedly “used his position of authority” to intimidate and assault men who were part of cases he was working, then bullied them into keeping quiet, according to a grand jury report acquired by NBC Philadelphia.

Among the accusations made against Nordo in the heavily redacted file were that he commented on a suspect’s penis while he was under arrest, talked about having sexual relationships with victims and asked about when “homosexual inmates” were being released “so he could have sex with them or sexually groom them.”

Nordo also allegedly displayed his gun during “grooming sessions” and told suspects that nobody would believe them if they reported him, according to NBC.
