These posts have been on my mind ALL day for some bizarre reason, so it shook me a bit to see the first two posted again. So, what previous president did use the military to save the Republic? JFK? Lincoln, too, maybe? I know the president has ultimate control over the NG/Marines/MI.
Did, in fact, the NG get called out in cities in November as Q alluded to? If so, where? If not, are we now possibly getting close to it happening based on the mirror theory? If so, I have a dumb question for constitutional lawfags: What legal conditions DO in fact need to be satisfied for the president to make this happen? Martial law? Who declares? It's been a long time since my civic classes, sorry.
Are we close to the legal necessity of calling out the NG? Based on what we see coming around us, what would it look like? What does a Constitutional crisis look like today? Riots? Asshole State governors (like mine) openly defying the Federal government (like happened under JFK)? Or, hopefully, some congressmen/former pols getting indicted/arrested? All of the above and more?
I want to be able to help keep people around me calm before and when it happens, and be ready to logically explain that it is going to be glorious when the clouds part after the storm. There are going to be a lot of scared people.
