Animal Postures of Shaolin Kung Fu
There is no one posture that is correct. The correct posture is the opposite of your adversary. This is true in politics and argument and debate too.
The Crane
The crane bobs and weaves, confusing the opponent. Feigns, false attacks. Balance. Waiting for an adversary to over-react and expose a weakness to strike.
The Monkey
Bounces all over the place, appears crazy and disorganized, but the mind is clear waiting to kick and punch.
The Leopard/Tiger
Aggressive attack. Rip the throat out.
The Dragon
Stalks. Maneuvers. Studies. Quick strikes until the bite.
The Snake
Patient. Not much motion. Relies on the adversary to expose for a quick strike.
The ability to move fluidly through the postures as the fight evolves will bring success.
