I see it like this:
Gather a big audience of patriotic followers.
Build up trust.
Then criticise Trump in minor ways and see what happens.
If nothing happens, wait for the next opportunity to criticise Trump again.
Pretend to be an ardent Trump supporter and to be still MAGA.
Do a little concern shilling.
Wait for the response of your followers.
Know that many MAGA supporters do badly want public figures to be Trump supporters,
because there are so many Trump haters in public already.
Real patriots won't dump a Coulter quickly, because then another (seemingly) public Trump supporter is proven to be a fake and this hurts and make patriots even lonelier in a world full of anti Trump media and social media.
If the time is "right":
Tell all of your followers that you are disappointed with Trump.
Tell them that you have to sadly admit that you erred on Trump.
That he deceived you.
and then give your followers a new "hope":
Tell them that Mitt Romney is the new beacon for conservatives.
This is one of many tactics to split a movement, when the time is "right".
Coulter is on good terms with Maher.
This should tell patriots all they have to know about her.

The aim is not to reach thinking patriots.
The aim is to divide and discredit a movement.

How does it look for non-thinking citizens, when even "hard core" Trump supporters like Coulter leave the ship?
They will think that Trump's ship is sinking.
