There's a prediction market that has allowed betting on virtually anything. It's outta Ireland– paddypower if I recall. I was watching it and that's what led me to think POTUS was inevitable– how do betters and bookies look at elections? They strip signal from noise whenever wherever possible.

I got to know a guy from South Sudan a few years back. Got to be frens. He had been a soldier from childhood because they were desperate to fight off the janajaweeds coming from the north where Islamic courts ran shit. South Sudan eventually achieved statehood and they have the bulk of the resources he said, that's why janajaweeds bothered to attack them rather than some other region of neighboring Christian's. Most of what I know is from what he said, but if they are like him they are good peep in the south… There (former) president had a schtick about wearing a cowboy hat and referring to himself as a "blackneck" (redneck). And apparently hell to pay if you thought you were gonna get him to take it off. But yeah sound like people ready to make a deal, and POTUS is /ourguy/ to do it (Q!)

Fun fact. When the Flemish (Belgian) colonized the region they governed the Tutsi and hutus by using a divide and conquer approach. They told one side that they were certainly the descendants of Ham from the Old Testament and therefore were closer to euros and therefore more predisposed to civilty and governance. That instilled the sense of superiority in one group allowing them to rationalize dick moves against the other group in a routine fashion.
