No one was injured, the sheriff's office said. FDLE said Massad was arrested, and the state attorney general's office will handle the case. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco says he now faces multiple counts of attempted homicide against deputies.
"He's lucky he's not dead," Sheriff Chris Nocco said during a press conference around noon Thursday. "He shot rounds at us. That's why we had so many members of our SWAT team out there, we knew it was going to be a very dangerous situation."
Nocco also mentioned that Massad was a "known drug user" and was a
"drug dealer." Deputies confirmed four other people were in the house at the time of the shooting.
