Tracking an odd P-3 WIZRD42

Checking the plane it is showing an odd registration "129".

Normally US militatary planes use registrations consisting of 2digit yearcode followed by 4 or more unique digits.

The callsign is normally assigned to Whidbey Island (Wizards & Warlocks) & a check on wiki for P-3SPA returned the page for the Hainan spy plane incident.

Question is this is there more to this incident than we were led to believe.

The P-3 plane was repaired.

The repairs took place at Integrated Systems of Waco, Texas as they were the main provider of P-3 maintenance and modernization at the time.

This occurred during the early days of GWB presidency.
