Hmmm. Wish it were so - Australia still will not demand ID proof when voting. They ask your name and address then cross it off a list solely on your word. Nothing to stop you voting at every polling booth as the cross off is only at that particular booth and does not remove you nationally. I think it is deliberate as we all know the enthusiasm certain political parties' supporters embrace the "vote early, vote often" mantra.
