After the Fall of Man – Genesis 3: 22-24 (NIV)

22) And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good from evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

23) So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

24) After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

If you were one of Satan’s lackeys and knew that death would bring you to Hell and eternal damnation, would you seek access to the tree of life?

Not having access to the tree of life is a blessing from God to those who are saved from their sins, by believing that their sins were paid in full by Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross for our sins. Those who believe and accept this gift of salvation from Jesus (God) know that when they die, they will spend eternity in Heaven with their Father who is God.
