i think they need to have a mandatory class called life skills.
How to balance a check book, keep a budget( rent, food, clothing).
How to cook simple easy meals( ive seen teens who can't use a can opener)
Information about how to bargain hunt, look for things on clerance and on sale.
About thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, etc)
Because with the cost of rent, and what they pay people starting out or in food industry.
The only way they will be able to afford furniture, household goods, decor, even clothing is by getting them second hand for a fraction of the price.
General household repairs and auto.
Knowledge about insurance and things of that nature.
Maybe teach about relationships, in the sense, of respect, how to treat people, like morals, but basically guidelines.
( i mention this because we have alot of young people who are rude, and due to being on devices all the time, they seem to not know how to form good relationships in real life.)
I would also say logic and reasoning skills, but that might be a whole seperate class.
Just they need a class that better prepares teens for the real world, and give them some knowledge and skills to surive and thrive.
