A few breads ago an anon posted information about Horizon Montessori schools. The name "horizon" is used in some Gulen schools so thought I'd look further into Mr. Ansari, the CEO/Principal of the Montessori schools.

According to "Corporation Wiki" He is associated with 2 companies, both created 1997-1998. One is the South Texas Educational Technologies company that controls the Horizon Montessori Schools in Texas. The other is The Islamic Society of South Texas. Mr. Ansari is also linked to The Islamic Center of Harlingen.

In Google Maps the Address associated with the Islamic Center of South Texas is a large mosque (street & sat views posted) while the The Islamic Center of Harlingen has two addresses listed, one from Guidestar and one from Corporation Wiki. Neither appear as obvious mosque structures on Google. These (?and other?) Islamic Centers are classified as "Church" with the IRS and are not required to file any 990 or 990-EZ paperwork, so no additional financial details are available for these centers.

The Harlingen Islamic Center is classified as "Mosque" according to Bizpedia.

Most of the individuals named in both "companies" have strong links to University of Texas both in UT-PanAmerican which merged to become UT- Rio Grand Valley.

The Alim Ansari companies have a number of the same individuals involved with backgrounds in India, Pakistan or Sudan but no links to Turkey. There is no evidence of a link to Gulen with these groups.

COMMENT: An incidental finding is that creation of Islamic Societies under a "church" IRS classification makes financial investigation of these groups difficult. There was no way to evaluate whether there were/are cross-linkages financially between the Horizon Montessori Schools and Islamic Societies of South Texas and Harlingen. Perhaps it is time to revisit IRS codes for all churches of any denomination?
