Rapper T-Pain walks off stage due to rowdy crowd at Jewish youth group concert

Grammy winner cuts set short after audience member hits him with a beach ball, calls concert goers ‘disrespectful’

(JTA) — Rapper and singer T-Pain might have a beef with BBYO, the Jewish teen movement.

Last weekend, the Grammy winner cut his set short at the BBYO convention in Denver after claiming audience members pelted him with glow sticks and a beach ball.

T-Pain later fumed about the incident on Instagram, calling the crowd “disrespectful.”

“I’m not about to sit here and get disrespected constantly for a fing hour,” he said in a nine-minute video. “Let me tell you something, I’m the motherf ‘GOAT’ [“greatest of all time”] … I don’t give a f what you little mother** are talking about, y’all 15, 16, you’re not in my demographic.”

T-Pain, born Faheem Rasheed Najm, explained that by the time he got on stage, he was already stressed and depressed — his flights were delayed, his hotel rooms weren’t ready on arrival and the BBYO staff didn’t provide him with alcohol or allow him to curse on stage. His brother, whose expensive hospital bills he shared publicly in December, had also recently passed away.

“I just buried my brother,” he said repeatedly in the Instagram video.

As he started performing it was clear fans were not into his music, he said, and many instead took to throwing objects at him. He still made it through roughly 50 minutes of the 60-minute set he had planned — which included hits such as “Buy U A Drank” and “Bartender.”

Between 2,200 and 2,400 teens attended the concert, which also featured the Swedish electronic duo Galantis.

A BBYO spokesperson told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that members of the audience did throw glow sticks at the beginning of the show and were asked not to, and that T-Pain left the stage after being hit by a beach ball. The organization subsequently apologized to the rapper and his team backstage and later to his manager. T-Pain was paid in full, the spokesperson said.

BBYO also said that his contract did not include an alcohol clause for an event at which alcohol is prohibited, and that T-Pain’s own staff made the hotel arrangements.

“In the past six years more than 25 acts have appeared before the BBYO International Conference, some of them more than once,” said the spokesperson. “This is the first time there has been such an issue. BBYO is sorry he didn’t have a good experience and they apologized for the incident.”

The convention is one of the largest annual events in the Jewish community, with as many as 5,500 teens and adults taking part. This year’s convention included the announcement of a $25 million pledge from the Chicago industrialist and philanthropist Ted Perlman to support women’s leadership and empowerment.

The gift is believed to be one of the largest ever to an organization serving youth.

That's all the sauce content so you don't have to give the sauce traffic.

Don't get lost in the sauce, nibbas!

Aaaaand here's (((Fuckerberg))) in the "news".

Report: Apps give Facebook sensitive health and other data

Developers recording user activity, sending it to social media company without users’ consent or knowledge

NEW YORK (AP) — Several phone apps are sending sensitive user data, including health information, to Facebook without users’ consent, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.

An analytics tool called “App Events” allows app developers to record user activity and report it back to Facebook, even if the user isn’t on Facebook, according to the report.

One example detailed by the Journal shows how a woman would track her period and ovulation using an app from Flo Health. After she enters when she last had her period, Facebook software in the app would send along data such as whether the user may be ovulating. The Journal’s testing found that the data was sent with an advertising ID that can be matched to a device or profile.

Although Facebook’s terms instruct app developers not to send such sensitive information, Facebook appeared to be accepting such data without telling the developers to stop. Developers are able to use such data to target their own users while on Facebook.

The development comes as Facebook is dealing with increased scrutiny over how it handles user data. Last week, British lawmakers issued a scathing report calling for tougher privacy rules for Facebook and other tech firms.

Criticisms over privacy intensified nearly a year ago following revelations that the now-defunct Cambridge Analytica data-mining firm accessed data on some 87 million Facebook users without their consent. The US Federal Trade Commission has been investigating that flap as well and is reportedly in negotiations with Facebook over a multibillion dollar fine.

The data-sharing is related to a data analytics tool that Facebook offers developers. The tool lets developers see statistics about their users and target them with Facebook ads.

Besides Flo Health, the Journal found that Instant Heart Rate: HR Monitor and real-estate app Realtor.com were also sending app data to Facebook. The Journal found that the apps did not provide users any way to stop the data-sharing.

Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It told the Journal that some of the data-sharing appears to violate its business terms. The company says it requires app developers to be clear with users about what they share.

Flo Health said in an emailed statement that using analytical systems is a “common practice” for all app developers and that it uses Facebook analytics for “internal analytics purposes only.” But the company plans to audit its analytics tools to be “as proactive as possible” on privacy concerns.

Hours after the Journal story was published, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo directed the state’s Department of State and Department of Financial Services to “immediately investigate” what he calls a clear invasion of consumer privacy. Cuomo also urged federal regulators to step in to end the practice.

Rich Mogull, CEO of the security research firm Securosis, said that while it is not good for Facebook to have yet another data privacy flap in the headlines, “In this case it looks like the main violators were the companies that wrote those applications,” he said. “Facebook in this case is more the enabler than the bad actor.”

Had no idea it was a show, kek.

Just thought it was a decent meme.

Fairly certain at this point that everything on TV/Movies/etc is pure programming.

If it's famous and being pushed to the masses, it's for a reason.
