HUD Secretary Ben Carson visits Alpha bridge shelter tent

“In America, we really need to get rid of this silly class warfare stuff,” he said at the conference. “The fact of the matter is, it was very wealthy people like the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, Fords, Carnegies that built the infrastructure of this country.”

Carson drew applause at the conference with a call for unity.

“We as Americans have got to stop falling for this nonsense that we’re each other enemies,” he said.
