Just stumbled onto this info regarding Amazon QUIETLY buying Ring doorbell company.

I am NOT happy about the fact that now Amazon servers store ALL of the comings and goings not to mention happenings recorded at MY front door and in MY front yard. Although I realize video was being uploaded to Ring's servers, THIS is SPOOPY to me considering it's now Amazon that has the ability to store the videos. This damn doorbell is going in the garbage at my house.

I see a business opportunity here. Somebody needs to open a business setup to receive Amazon deliveries for people who aren't home at time of scheduled delivery to keep Amazon from getting too close for comfort in our personal lives.

>When they view a delivery photo under the Your Orders section, they can click on 'Don't take delivery photos' to opt out.

It's the fact that all of the video created from activity within the range of the doorbell will be stored on Amazon's servers that unnerves me.

Quoted from article:

"'Ring is committed to our mission to reduce crime in neighbourhoods by providing effective yet affordable home security tools to our neighbours that make a positive impact on our homes, our communities and the world,' Ring said in a statement.

'We look forward to being a part of the Amazon team as we work toward our vision for safer neighbourhoods.'

I don't want them policing MY home.
