"San Francisco Public Defender Jeff Adachi, a renowned advocate for the accused and an outspoken watchdog on police misconduct, has died. He was 59.

Mayor London Breed confirmed Friday night that Adachi had died, saying that San Francisco had “lost a dedicated public servant.” He was the only elected public defender in California.

Every year, Adachi’s office wore T-shirts in San Francisco’s Gay Pride Parade that read, ‘Getting People Off Since 1921.”"

"A former track and field coach in Santa Clara County was arrested Thursday for allegedly engaging in sexual relationships with three teenage girls and sexually assaulting a girl of about 12 between 1999 and 2011, San Jose police reported Friday.

Chioke Robinson, 45, of San Jose, was the subject of multiple reports alleging sexual misconduct beginning in January of this year, according to police. He is currently an assistant track coach at San Francisco State University and a self-employed personal trainer in San Jose.

Police said two victims said Robinson had sexual relationships with them when they were 17 years old, another said he had a sexual relationship with her when she was 15 and the fourth victim reported she was sexually assaulted when she was about 12."
