Marriage is the unifying of two souls, two genders, into an eternal bond, something beyond the comprehension of most people, myself included. Playing dress up and being married under a 'church' or a government doesn't mean anything. It's perverting spirituality into physical interpretations, like nearly everything else having to do with the spiritual side of humanity.
You can marry many times, just as you can sin many times, before finding truth and light. The bible even shows this with the virgin birth of Jesus. Do you really think Mary was a virgin? Jesus came from a whore, to show that even those of us who come from the most 'lowly' of backgrounds can attain ultimate spiritual enlightenment.
