I know that area very well. I ran offshore crewboats along the TX/LA coasts during the 90's. Does anyone have an idea of its altitude when the engine surging started? Lots of birds over Galveston and Trinity bays this time of year. Maybe a bird ingestion into the engines like Sully on the Hudson? It's either that or it a massive hydraulics failure.
