About hosts files…

8ch (cloudflare) uses any-DNS and DNSSEC and has its DNS source servers

A hosts file is not always a good idea, but it is a decent back up. If you use the hosts file, they can and will DDOS whatever IP number you've put down. When that node goes down you will have to manually rotate it to the next node.
