on baking & learning to bake

turn off tree view and get comfy reading on the fly and mousing over if there is not enough context.

so you committed to bake, you met the other baker at the dough and accepted the handoff. now what? First thing, you need the Iwo Jima Flag Raising pic from the top of the current bread. Go there, save it so it's at your fingertips.

open the dough Pastebin link, download and open in a text editor

start by making a new line in the notables section for the current bread. this is a good moment to take mental note of the bread number and think about the title for your next bread.

skip to the bottom of notables

move the oldest bundle link (or two) to the previous notables section, then erase the oldest live notables to make room for your freshies. baking is not the moment to discover it's too long to post.

read the bread, and format a notable for anything that seems notable.

open a tab to qresear.ch (to check past notables quickly)

look at stuff ONCE and decide if it's notable to you. you don't have to wait for someone to call it. baker's prerogative.

anons will call notables by a variety of different methods: they will link to the OP post (first in bread) and give you a YOU. They will call notable with a link. they will call it out with a "BAKER" and although red text and the words baker or notable, or thank you anon a red text of BAKER NOTABLE followed by a properly formatted notable on one line ready to paste, all methods are legit.

sometime anons call notables that are ridiculous, or old, or already noted, or no sauce, sometimes another shill, i mean anon, will call second. it's the baker's discernment as to whether or not to include. more in a moment.

your first post will be a "notables bundle" at 200ish. This lets anons know there is a baker in the kitchen and gives a preview of what is notable, gives a chance for feedback. Another notables bundle at 500ish, and a final notables bundle just before baking. (some bakers are chattier, this is what works for me.)

The final bundle will be the one linked to from the next bread, and is the link that will be carried forward to the "previous notables" and the archives. It should have the bread number and the word "notables" in the headline.

Just after posting the 500ish bundle, I usually open two Catalog tabs.

In the first I start preparing the next bread: "Q Research General #XXXX: Bake America Great Again Edition" or whatever your appropriate title might be.

Then add the OP part of the bread, with the Q posts, and the Q Research Iwo Jima Flag Raising Graphic. Post the new thread at 680, or 650 bread is flying.

Here's why two Catalog tabs: Often, the New Thread posting hangs at 100% and doesn't move on to let you post replies in the new bread. If this happens, switch to the 2nd Catalog tab, where you will likely see your new bread and you can click on it and start adding the rest of the dough sections.

When all the dough sections are posted, use your text editor to Select All and copy, then go to your Pastebin tab and Make New Paste, pasta that dough on in, then scroll to the bottom to hit the New Paste button (again) there. You'll have to do the 4 letter Capcha, then copy the URL and make a post in the new bread for the Pastebin dough link.

finally, grab a link to your new bread (click on message #, copy from relay buffer) and go to the old bread and anytime after 740 post a "fresh bread" link. Comfy!

For all QR baking or lurking, I use Firefox with Ghostery and FoxScroller, and add the Q/You/Bakeables user JS at https://pastebin.com/HMdZv37b or https://pastebin.com/xdWgi2Uv

(not mine, huge thanks to the OC anon)
