I'll have to assume POTUS hasn't seen the movie - it ends with the horrible scenes from Charlottesville, when a car plowed through the crowd. Also, it shows a KKK spokesperson aligning themselves with TRUMP.
Just because they chose to interpret Trumps's message on giving the country back to the people, they appropriated it for themselves - POTUS did not endorse the KKK, far from it.
Then the last image prior to the credits is the US flag - upside down, which fades to black and white.
Spike Lee has always tried to sow division, and I actually think he'll only be happy if there's a race war.
