I don't think it will. Women tend to be very spiteful and vengeful - but men tend to be more resilient. Sure - everyone has their spike of retaliatory sentiment, but men get into the boxing ring, beat around on each other until they have made sure the other person understands a bit, and then they become good friends afterward, or at least respected rivals.

The relationship between men and women is very long and has taken on many different forms throughout our various cultures, and times during those cultures.

I don't think we will devolve to the point of women being property. That's not "backlash", but an underlying cultural shift far beyond the ability of a generation or two of "marital squabbles" to change.

In most cases, what I have come to feel is pity for them. I think that is also the general sentiment that is felt among men. The thing that (((they))) didn't count on is how men of our culture are far more apt to see women as victims. Whether they realize it or not, this is also part of why the women, who are bad, are so effective as recruiters. We do not see women, generally, as threatening or malicious. Even when we do, it's often in the tragic sense of a damsel in distress.

Which is why I don't think there will be a reprisal against women in the form of a cultural shift that overturns our values. A man's revenge is that of complete destruction and annihilation. We won't have our revenge against the people who were caught up in something. I wouldn't want to be those who are knowingly and deliberately deceiving them, however.
