>Star is Born a reference to a fallen star/lucifer?
Perhaps it was originally, but having listened to several Bradley Cooper interviews over the weekend, it is clear to me that he had no real interest in making his movie some sort of tribute to the earlier versions. It was an opportunity for him to pursue his vision of making an epic movie, to tell a good story, to be a myth maker.
Aside from scenes in the drag queen bar, everything else in this new version was prohumanity. It’s an old fashioned love story with no infidelity. Think about how rare that is coming out of Hollywood these days. Thus, if it was supposed to be some tribute to Satan, it was a huge failure.
No attacks on identity groups, white male privledge, yada, yada. Which is probably why it got some bad reviews from the establishment Hollywood status quo reviewers. In their eyes, it wasn’t “progressive” enough and it certainly wasn’t from the LEFTs perspective.
