This seems rather plausible.
First a post without a trip, then a post with a trip by the same ID… Checking to see how those sites determine what posts are Q's.
Algo needs to be updated to verify each post as containing the trip and the ID. The trip is actually different in the site and viewing apps/adjustments can separate the trip from the name field - it is just how the site displays the trip by default, as bold next to the name field.
The trip now uses a salt from the server in the hash routine, so without a rainbow table that is probably not within the power of current computers to make, they will have substantial difficulty cracking the code.
It just seems odd that they would be waiting until now to test this… But I suppose it is also important to create an evolving defense. Let your opponent think a vulnerability exists and then change it once you receive intel they are about to move on it - frustrating them and forcing th to re-evaluate. Compared to making an over-engineered defense from the outset, it would be a superior strategy assuming you have confidence in your eyes.
