Reading and studying the Bible for ourselves is just ingrained into our DNA, I guess.
Catholics? Not really. I know 2 ex-Catholics who are now studying and reading scripture, and they both say that they were discouraged from doing that by their Priests when they first began asking questions about the differences between Church Doctrine and what the Bible actually says.

Maybe because we don't just follow our spiritual leaders blindly, and check things in the Bible out for ourselves?
