Your point makes some sense, in that people in large areas of the state are offset by people in a small area.

But keep in mind the only "area" that matters for quantifying votes is actual people, and from that perspective NYC is much larger than the rest of the stats.

Maps that show the red and blue "parts" of America inspire the same sort of category error a lot of the time.

If you are going to get into an argument in the future, don't try to claim that physical terrain has anything to do with electoral support as you will be laughed at.
