Need some help digging on something for those willing to do so I thank you.

Any legitimacy to this? My wife is currently panicking and freaking out about it - nevermind that I'd pointed out Youtube and other streaming is being severely targeted across multiple vectors from the MSM (abc/fox/nbc etc etc).

Unfortunately I'm also workfagging and not able to really spend much time directly on this until this evening.

Any help would be appreciated and I don't know a better community to dig. Particularly when it is related to children, harming children, advocating self harm of children and etc.

TIA

Following reports of viral suicide game 'Momo' appearing on YouTube adverts in Ireland, the PSNI have issued a warning to parents.

The Northern Ireland-wide alert has warned parents that the game is "targeting" children.

The news comes after a mother in Northern Ireland raised the alarm last week.

The disturbing 'Momo' character appears behind innocent games to catch parents off guard.

It encourages the player to follow its instructions, acts of self-harm, for fear of being 'cursed' if they're not followed.

Spread through WhatsApp and other forms of social media, the character has a distorted face, bulging eyes and a terrifying smile.

The sinister game tells users that it's a secret and not to reveal anything to their parents.

It's the first time the game has reached Ireland but international reports have linked the game to suicides of young children.

A Belfast mother said she found the game on her seven-year-old daughter's iPad while another found it on her son's PlayStation.

The PSNI said no reports had yet been made to them but urged parents to call the police immediately if they have any concerns about it.

"Our advice as always, is to supervise the games your kids play and be extremely mindful of the videos they are watching on YouTube," said police.

"Ensure that the devices they have access to are restricted to age suitable content."

yeah I saw that. But it's also being re-circulated now.

Either way, it's time to remove YT Kids from all their devices and stick to direct-download only.

Also removing ad-supported games (I was against them from the outset but … some arguments you can't win now I have the ammo)

Worse, the times being what they are, they can't do 99% of what we could as kids.

My parents wouldn't see me on the weekends from teh time I got up until ~6 or 7pm - and that was a good thing. Can't even really let them play in our fenced in back yard any more, without supervision.
