Pakistan-India showdown: What you’re not being told

A recent terrorist attack in Kashmir could set the stage for a major conflict between India and Pakistan as India begins bombing Pakistani territory. As always, the root causes of these are being ignored by the media.

On February 14, India was rocked by a suicide-bombing which took place inside Jammu and Kashmir. The attack targeted a convoy of security personnel vehicles, killing at least 42 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers (as well as the bomber himself).

Responsibility for the attack was claimed by a Pakistan-based Islamist group called Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). JeM’s main goal is to steal Kashmir away from India and unite it with Pakistan, to ensure that Pakistan is ruled by Sharia law, and to drive Western forces out of Afghanistan. Its other eventual priority is to drive all Hindus and non-Muslims from the Indian subcontinent.

The attack has drawn such negative publicity that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), finally agreeing on something for once, identified India as a victim of terrorism and asked member states to cooperate actively with New Delhi to bring these attackers to justice.

Child psychiatrist speaks out on the importance of raising non-gender ‘theybies’: ‘We don’t want our children pigeon-holed’

Imagine the horror of being a boy and feeling like a boy

A California-based child psychiatrist says that it's important to raise babies to reject gender roles.

Say what?

Dr. Anna Shier — a double board-certified physician in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry — is a proponent of the burgeoning "theyby" movement, according to KTTV-TV.

"Theybies" are defined as gender-neutral babies who aren't coerced one way or the other to behave the way stereotypes of their natural-born sexes might.

For example, baby girls are not forced to play with dolls and dress in pink, nor are baby boys forced to wear blue clothing and play with trucks.

Shier told KTTV that from her experience, it's important to avoid pushing children into male-female stereotypes.

"[F]or [babies], unless you tell them that's a boy part and that's a girl part, they won't themselves necessarily know," Shier explained.

"We don't want our children pigeon-holed," she added. "We don't want our children to not be able to be as successful as they potentially could be. So, you know, kids learn the very most in this world from toys that they play with, so if girls don't get to play with blocks or toys that would teach them spacial [sic] understanding or mathematical concepts, then they're missing out on that really important aspect of learning, because they are pushed really more towards dolls, learning how to nurture through that sort of toy."

Shier explained that children typically determine their own genders by the age of 3 — or at least figure out "what gender fits them," according to the station.

"That's just when kids start to have an understanding of what their own innate interests are, and that probably does have something to do with the differences in our brain, but it's hard to say that once we do have," Shier explained. "If we have more gender-neutral families, we may find that that age of 3 to 4 is pushed back a little bit later, because they are given more time to really develop without societal influence."

What else?

Shier added there are only benefits if the child in question — the "theyby," in this case — is able to choose their own gender, or gender identity.

"In terms of what the study showed when they had kids playing with toys they associated with their gender, they were able to recall more about it," Shier said. "They recalled things that the toys can do. They recalled things they might want the toy to do, and those things that were considered outside of their gender, they couldn't really recall as much. They didn't really learn as much from their exposure."

Study Finds Nearly Half of Child and Adult Sex Trafficking Victims Were Abused by Police

Nearly half of all the sex trafficking victims interviewed in a disturbing new report say that, instead of helping them, police took part in the abuse.

A shocking new report from the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women paints a disturbing picture of law enforcement and their role in sex trafficking. The report found that instead of preventing child and adult sex trafficking, many police officers are participating in it.

The report is titled “Sex Trafficking in Hawaii: The Stories of Survivors,” which detailed the testimonials from multiple victims. One particularly disturbing part of the report was the fact that almost half of all the victims interviewed reported that police officers participated in their abuse and victimization.

“The corruption of members of the criminal justice system reported by the participants in the study was pervasive in their stories of being prostituted,” the report noted.

The report found that the average age of those being trafficked is just 14-years-old, showing how early the abuse began.

One of the victims interviewed, who wished to remain anonymous for obvious reasons explained that “the same people that are charging you for prostitution are the people turning around and buying it from you.”

Another participant in the study noted that police would even help to acquire the young girls drugs. The teenager was living in a drug house which had been busted by police and after the raid, the officer told the girl, “if you want pills, don’t mess with this little kid, you call me.”

Khara Jabola-Carolus, with the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women, explained that the abuse was extensive and on all levels of the spectrum. “This ranged from cops asking for sexual favors to more coercive situations like I’ll let you go if you do X, Y, or Z for me.’ Bring customers after hours in exchange for cigarettes or gas money,” she explained.

When confronted with this information about the abuse of sex trafficking victims by police officers, Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard issued the following statement:

“I am deeply concerned and will continue to ask the Commission to provide additional information so that HPD can investigate. We respect the participants’ privacy and understand why they do not want to be identified. However, if they can provide us with when or where the activity occurred and a description of the officer, we will investigate to the fullest extent possible. HPD does not condone the behavior described in the study under any circumstances.”

US sending ‘spoiled food’ and ‘expired medicine’ as aid – Venezuelan ambassador

Venezuela’s ambassador to Russia discussed his government’s rejection of American ‘foreign aid’, pointing out that aside from coming with dangerous strings attached, the so called ‘aid’ is unfit for consumption.

“We don’t perceive what the United States and its satellites offer as humanitarian aid,” Ambassador Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa explained in an interview with Russian media.

He added that International Committee of the Red Cross agreed with his position, referring to recent incidents of opposition figures using fake Red Cross credentials at the Colombian border.

“Since we refuse to accept these goods, the States want to force them into our territory”

Venezuela has closed several borders in order to enforce a ban on “aid” packages from the US, an order which he says Washington has all but ignored in order to “create a tense situation on the border” which it uses to justify intervention.

Aside from the broader political considerations, he said that Venezuela has also attempted to halt supplies from the US based on health and hygiene standards.

“The USA sends products that no one has tested. From our sources we know that their boxes have contained spoiled food, expired medicines and drugs, unsuitable for use. They have not been tested by a single one of the organizations that conduct these kind of checks around the world,” he noted.

Whereas Venezuela rejects aid from Washington, Tortas made it clear that it accepts humanitarian supplies from other countries Caracas feels can be trusted not to exploit the situation in order to push an anti-government agenda. Meanwhile, the essential supplies situation in Venezuela is not as desperate as it has been portrayed in Western media.

Asked if Venezuela was prepared to deal with an outright foreign invasion, Tortosa said that he still believes in a peaceful solution. He couldn’t say the same however, about US Vice President Mike Pence and US special envoy for Venezuela Elliot Abrams who visited US-allied Colombia on Monday.

“We remember what this man did in Central America in the 1980s. This is a man who thinks only of military solutions,” Tortosa explained.

On Tuesday, Russia’s Security Council announced that the US was preparing for an invasion after American special forces units began amassing in Puerto Rico and Colombia. The US has utilized recent clashes over aid at the border to justify its aggressive maneuvers.

Omar Deletes Tweets About Israel That Sparked Backlash

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar deleted tweets about Israel on Monday night that have sparked negative media attention and condemnation.

The oldest tweet she deleted, which was first reported by Jerry Dunleavy of the Washington Examiner, was posted in Nov. 2012, and it read,

“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel #Gaza #Palestine #Israel.”

At the time, the Israeli Defense Forces’ eight-day Operation Pillar of Defense, during which they were responding to rockets being fired into Israel.

Washington Examiner’s Jerry Dunleavy was the first to report the deletion.

Omar previously defended that tweet in an interview with Christiane Amanpour in January, saying, “What is really important to me is that people recognize that there is a difference between criticizing a military action by a government that has exercised really oppressive policies and being offensive or attacking to particular people of faith.”

She then stood by the comment once again in an interview days later on CNN, but later apologized for “unknowingly” using an anti-Semitic trope.

Omar also deleted two tweets that received media backlash earlier this week in which she accused the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) of buying congressional support for Israel.

Omar was widely rebuked by members of both parties for what Speaker Pelosi described as using “anti-Semitic tropes.” After the speaker issued her condemnation, she issued an apology on Twitter.

“Anti-Semitism is real, and I am grateful for Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes. My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole,” her statement read in part.

Omar’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
