CO & NM Dems pushing law changes that all electoral votes will go to the winner of the popular vote.

This appears to be a sleeper plan that has been on the back burner since the Bush v Gore election. Gore moaned constantly about the electoral college and that he should have won because he won the popular vote. GORE PLANTED THE SEED.

Shortly after that election, some changes to federal election laws, along with the push to make sure no voters were disenfranchised. This in turn ties in with no voter ID.

Fast forward to 2016. Trump wins w/Electoral College, but allegedly lost w/popular vote.

Fast forward to 2018. Blatant appearance of voter fraud in the House elections and other key positions. This gives Dems renewed conviction that they can control election outcomes again.

Fast forward to 2019. The push in CO & NM to change the electoral college process to award all electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. This theorectically disenfranchises all NM and CO votes should one or both of these states vote (assuming the national popular vote is blue).

BUT - THE KICKER. Dems never think things through. WHAT IF - NM and CO pass this change to state process on handling the electoral college votes…. and the popular vote goes to TRUMP in 2020?

Personally, I think the Dems have had this plan on the back burner since Bush v Gore. As a back-up plan in case their "authorized" choice for president ever lost.
