actually, I'll have to concur with this, strictly speaking.
all of the planets do it. the energy from the sun goes somewhere.
The continental shelves (the expanding ones) do it for a reason. The fossil record shows, and there have been simulations done that show that Pangea… had essentially the same surface area as the current continents, now.
There's also several simulations floating around that show that this could be done in a short time. (less than 20 years)
There's sea fossils on top of mountains for very good reasons :)
