Use the filters and/or hash the comm content. Unsophisticated bots simply copypasta and constantly shit up the bread (eg >5420246). Others fill out the email field with nonsense, eg .*@luv.u, but rotate it every so often; still filterable. Just knowing some javascript can go very far.

After lurking enough, you'll hardly even notice them. And don't feed them, see "multi-prong attack"; they gang up to further slide the bread. To the extent of taking both sides of the same position.

tl;dr: if the post has nothing to do with research/digs and doesn't advance anything, 9 out of 10 times just skip over it. There's so many eyes here that if it's important someone will notice or repost.
