Two growing areas of concern globally are Venezuela, with a recent 40 percent increase in TB cases in the capital, Caracas, last year, and North Korea (DPRK).
Last year, there was a scientifically inexplicable decision by the Global Fund to discontinue funding of a program that had been successful in fighting TB in DPRK.
