I've suspected the reason there is no DECLAS, no indictments, no arrests, no public reveal, no video/AK47 photo/etc - is because POTUS wants to win the media over eventually, to get a fair hearing on his merits as every other president has gotten in the modern era.
Maybe it is dawning on him that this is total war, and he will never get a fair hearing, ever.
