South Africaâs parliament has passed a motion to seize land from white farmers without paying them compensation.
Passed by an overwhelming majority of 241 votes to 83 votes against, the proposal to amend Section 25 of the constitution would allow expropriation of land without any financial recompense. Â
It was put forward by the radical left Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party, whose leader Julius Malema told the country's parliament: âWe must ensure that we restore the dignity of our people without compensating the criminals who stole our land.â
Iâm not a big world history buff but as I understand it, the majority of black people who live in South Africa were imported.
I might be way off base with this last statement but if I were a white farmer in SOuth Africa about to lose my home and land, I would raze all structures and make the land unusable for generations. All ground would be dead earth. I would make sure nothing would grow and no animals would be able to be sustained on it. I would even poison my wells. If you take my land you will have nothing.
