1) "We respect the judicial authorities" = Yo, judges, we expect you to play ball with Rome

2) "We await the appeal process" = we put no stock in the jury verdict

3) "Pell maintains his innocence" = despite a conviction, he's innocent and we will exhaust all appeals (likely paid by the Church, of course)

4) "While awaiting the definitive judgement" = again, we REJECT the JURY VERDICT in hopes that a judge we own will overturn the conviction

5) "while awaiting the definitive assessment of the facts, as is the norm" = who cares what the plebs on the jury found, only the appeal will sort the facts (which is b.s.)
