When the Weekly Standard announced it was closing their globalist rag, pro-Trump patriots and long-time conservative activists breathed a sigh of relief. Certainly having no supporters was the end of neoconservative “journalism” once and for all, right?

Not quite. Rumors of neocons’ demise have been greatly exaggerated. Buoyed by leftist dollars, these vultures who ruined the conservative movement by pushing massive spending hikes, open-border anarchy, and crazed foreign interventions are hiding in plain sight ready to pick the bones of the Trump revolution.

Jonah Goldberg, long-time ‘Never Trump’ hack of National Review, is pairing with Steve Hayes, the former Weekly Standard editor-in-chief who was last seen leading a media witch-hunt against Rep. Steve King (R-IA) for non-existent racism, to create a supposedly conservative media entity to oppose the Republican President. Hayes is expected to serve as the CEO while Goldberg is the editor-in-chief of this currently unnamed outlet.

Corporate Oligarchs Want Gun Registration

Corporate oligarchs are calling for more gun control.

With the U.S. House expected to vote Wednesday on universal gun registration bill H.R. 8, four CEOs signed a letter urging Congress to spearhead this legislation.

Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS’s shoes, has joined the anti-gun frenzy. At first, TOMS’s board of directors debated whether the CEO should be involved with political issues as controversial as gun control.

Mycoskie said “everyone was very concerned about us doing something like this” and was somewhat hesitant to take on this fight.

However, the board eventually embraced the gun control hysteria, as Mycoskie noted:

“But ultimately we recognized that this is an opportunity for us to really be a leader in business and to show our customers that we are engaged in the issues that matter most to them.”

Mycoskie joined the CEOs of Levi Strauss, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and RXT Realty in signing this letter calling for the U.S. to pass H.R. 8, legislation that would put the U.S. one step closer towards gun registration.

Instead of being upfront about the legislation’s true intentions, the CEOs wrote:

“… we are writing to you because we have a responsibility and obligation to stand up for the safety of our employees, customers and all Americans in the communities we serve across the country….

Mycoskie recognizes that roughly 12 percent of his customer base won’t buy his company’s shoes due to his anti-gun stances. Nevertheless, Mycoskie remains firm in his anti-gun ways stating that his company “lost some customers by doing this, but I think we also strengthened our relationship in a way that was far greater than whatever we lost.”

China’s Zhongshan Station Antarctic research base celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this week. Xinhua reports that some Zhongshan staffers are now heading home aboard the Chinese icebreaker Xuelong which is en route to Shanghai from the world’s southernmost continent.

Zhongshan Station, inaugurated in February 1989, was the second of four Chinese scientific research facilities on the Antarctic ice sheet built since the 1960s. Located in the Larsemann Hills by Prydz Bay in East Antarctica, near Russia’s Progress II Station and Romania’s Law-Racoviţă Station, Zhongshan is a logistics hub and setting off point for inland expeditions on the icy continent.

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — The Latest on extremist attack in Somalia's capital (all times local):

Police in Somalia's capital say a nearly day-long siege in the heart of Mogadishu has ended with all of the al-Shabab extremist attackers killed.

Capt. Mohamed Hussein says an operation to clear the buildings has begun and bodies have been found.

The attack began with a pair of car bombs in a popular area of Mogadishu where Somalis were relaxing at restaurants and hotels. The extremists then holed up inside buildings while security forces worked to rescue trapped civilians.

At least 24 people have been killed, with more than 50 people wounded.

U.S. debt ceiling returns after 1-year hiatus, but increase likely months away

The ceiling, when it returns, will be near $22 trillion – a level the national debt has already surpassed.

March 1, (UPI) – The U.S. government faces a Friday deadline to raise the U.S. debt ceiling after it was suspended for a full year, or else the country will no longer be able to borrow money internationally.

Failure to address the debt limit may set up a scenario in which the Treasury Department could run out of money by the end of the fiscal year,.

President Donald Trump signed a law in February 2018 that temporarily eliminated the statutory limit on the debt ceiling – or the maximum amount of debt the Treasury Department can issue to the public or federal agencies. That suspension will expire at midnight Friday.

The Bipartisan Policy Center said the limit will be close to $22 trillion when it's reinstated Saturday – $1 trillion higher than it was before the suspension.
