NASA has not seemed entirely happy about SpaceX gaining a foothold in launching NASA astronuats. Just something to be aware of.

 

NASA has a long history of having a monopoly on manned orbital launches from American soil. (Even Boeing's capsule is, at least, from a traditional big defense contractor, so closer to the norm from NASA's point of view.)

 

Of course this is just a viewpoint from a faction within NASA, not the whole, there are elements of NASA delighted to be able to use SpaceX's amazing advances in rocket technology. (What they've done is incredible.)
