The best explanation of Trudeau SNC-Lavalin scandal: Bribes, Investments, Government Corruption, and a 2-Tiered Justice System
SNC-Lavalin is Montreal-based engineering & construction services company, who has won many tax-payer funded projects.
In 2015, the RCNP charged SNC-Lavalin with bribery, including $47.7M to Libyan officials. Of that $47.7M, $30,000 was spent on prostitution services given to Muammar Gaddafi' son.
After being charged, SNC-Lavalin went into a full-court press on the government to lobby against prosecution. If convicted, they would be denied federal contracts. In a following budget bill, the liberals snuck in “deferred prosecution” agreement option which would have allowed SNC-Lavalin to pay a fine and maintain their contracts with the government.
Canada has a public prosecutor’s office who decides whether to offer a deferred prosecution agreement. The prosecutor’s office refused to offer SNC-Lavalin a deferred prosecution and stated it would go to trial. The AG stood firm on that decision. The clerk of the privy council, admitted in recent testimony that "we went to the former attorney general and went through the economic implications of a trial and conviction.” The AG stood her ground and was fired. Therefore, there is a potential criminal exposure for Trudeau's government, including obstruction of justice.
After the AG methodically laid out the alleged corruption, Trudeau said she must have "experienced it differently," (although he admitted not listening to her entire testimony). MP Michelle Rempe blasted Trudeau as a fake-feminist who used the same excused after the groping scandal.

Before speaking, MP Michelle Rempe was admonished by the speaker to be “be careful with your words.” Describing the $30K prostitution bribe, Rempe said: “[t]his is the so-called victimless crime our ‘woke’ Prime Minister is moving mountains to cover up.” Trudeau countered that he will defend Canadian jobs.
