Assange was running WL as an espionage outfit. Assange got himself in a pickle, and rumor got out he had Hillary's emails. After taking care if Seth, they went after Assange; a little DS civil war, if you will. Here's the deal:
NSA found out Assange had all that and needed a key witness for what they were working on. DS wanted to crash/smash WL, and take out Assange as well. Assange got "scooped", and the DS took over WL (not sure if that's still the case or not).
Q says Assange isnt stateside, but would Q answer that question honestly? Not sure I would. At any rate, I would assume Assange has a few hundred years worth of charges against him, and is cooperating 110% to get some of that reduced.
