Drudge talked with AJ a year or so ago about "digital ghettos" that we live in - like twitter, youtube, facebook, etc.

He was convinced that content creators were at extreme risk by creating their audience on other peoples platforms. He said everyone needed to "create their own thing" where they owned and controlled the content.

This is great for guys like Drudge sitting on a fire hose of traffic, but the rest of us need a way to build an audience for starters.

In the current digital world, you must create a backup channel for anything you want to keep. Encourage your subscribers to also follow your private channel (your website, alt ghetto, "base station", etc) – even post some of your BEST work on your private channel… and tease them on your ghetto channels to get your followers to your base station.
