Wow. So, one that’s wants to hit her so long and hard she’ll look like an exploded Hot Pocket, and another that calls her a goddess and an angel and wants to walk on the beach in the moonlight with her.

I think as time has gone by, and the risk is behind him (that particular one, anyway), he’s able to inject a little humor into it. IMO, he repeats it because it’s a good story to tell.
I don’t know for a fact, but I would imagine the blackout is protocol for flying a VIP, especially Potus, into a combat area.
