Those who have played sports in their lives know that there are moments when one team/individual has nothing to lose and the other appears completely fucking unbeatable and, very often, the latter gets lazy, confident and thinks things are in the bag while the other is hungry, has nothing to lose and feels pissed off that it was either discounted or treated as it didn't matter.

So my point is that in situations like that the team usually has no fucking clue how to respond to adversity and being pressured because they have never been pressured and never faced adversity where as their opponent was born into adversity and carved by it and fucking felt the burning of it as it crawled forward to compete.
One side knows how to adapt to and fight adversity, the other becomes erratic and as the game gets closer to the end they become more and more desperate to gain control of the game again and make more and more errors because the wind was completely taken out of their sails.
