Well, POTUS did mention to check the WH Phone logs, saying "Everybody else does." or something to that affect.

One answer: The [old guard] counted on voters like me.
I always thought of DJT as just another elite playboy billionaire.
Thought his announcement to run was a joke.
Then for some reason, my spider sense started tingling.
Since I've been awake for years, and distrust the entire establishment, I watched and listened carefully.
And damn, what do you know, DJT was turning out to think and talk like me and my friends.
No BS, just sayin it like it is.
Not like the typical, piss down your leg pol blowing smoke, but sayin the dangerous stuff that got guys like JFK shot.
Didn't take long into 2016 for me to pick up the signals from him that he was the real deal.
And ALL the MOUNTAINS of BS covering [crooked Hillary] convinced me DJT was an outsider, not in [their club].
Another answer: The [old guard] had dirt on everybody. They always have. But they targeted DJT & Cruz as their two main marks to [take down] when the time was right. They figured DJT & Cruz were their easiest "marks" / stalking-horses.
They've always done this too; every election.
It maintains the illusion of fair elections.
Even so, a lot of us have ALWAYS seen that only certain candidates even have a chance to make it to "The Big Game".
Ross Perot = Eliminated without a fair shot.
Ron Paul = Eliminated without a fair shot.
The list goes on.
Point being; the had had manufactured dossiers on DJT & Cruz, to use once they eliminated all the other challengers.
Then Bam, they would pounce with the proverbial "October Surprise". Hell that term is in our modern vernacular. Everybody knows what an "October Surprise" is.
Pretty sad our politics is so shitty.
Anyhoo, I think a lot of anons have had the "Battle-Space Picture" for quite some time.
