What happens when the companies who control the certs act as the gatekeeper which proves competency? Will those who take the initiative have the initiative, unrelated to institutional learning. What does a degree even mean to people? Oversold? #2008. Does submitting yourself to a institutional form of learning a specific skill appeal when most of the information is at your fingertips? What sanctifies this? Does it make sense to be taught when you can teach yourself? Choosing the latter also means ridiculous debt. How long can academia be insulated from the real world? Real economics is involved in certification as opposed to a degree.
