Japan unexpectedly grants ex-Nissan boss bail after months behind bars

Former Nissan head Carlos Ghosn has been granted bail by a court in Japan after more than three months in detention over accusations of financial misconduct, according to the ex-chairman’s lawyer.

According to the ruling issued by Tokyo district court, Ghosn will be released in the near future on bail of a billion of yen (nearly $9 million). The release on bail was granted on condition that the accused doesn’t flee Japan or try to destroy evidence. Prosecutors reportedly appealed the bail decision.

France faces third night of riots after two teens die in police chase (VIDEOS)

A third consecutive night of rioting broke out in the French city of Grenoble on Monday after two teenagers were killed while they were being chased by police.

The two young men, aged 17 and 19, were not wearing helmets when they were crushed between a coach and a wall on a bridge as they fled the police on a stolen scooter on Saturday evening.

Rioting youths in the Mistral district of the city – where the victims lived – were filmed hurling fireworks and petrol bombs at police on Monday night, while as many as 65 vehicles were also reportedly torched.

Video footage from the scene shows police attempting to thwart the riot from behind the barricade that the youths had erected by launching canisters of tear gas. Hundreds of fireworks rang out among the skyrise apartment buildings in the city, and balls of flames appeared to land at random.

NY Times Backs Up Trump’s “Duct-Taped Women at the Border” Claim

Another Trump “lie” about issues at the southern border crossing turns out to be the truth.

Remember when the mainstream media sneered at President Trump’s claims on how people allegedly being tied up, bound, and duct-taped women at the border? These outlets included CNN and The Washington Post.

As it turns out, Trump was right. The media outlet going on the record to correct the “fact checkers” on this issue is the New York Times, the queen bee of liberal media outlets, and certainly no friend of the president’s.

In light of this new information, Fox News’s Brian Flood reported that the Washington Post “did not answer directly when asked if a correction or editor’s note would be added to its piece.”

As of this writing, they haven’t.

The media frenzy surrounding Trump’s claim was odd in the first place. The horrors women have faced trying to cross the border have been well-documented for years: abuse, violence, sexual assaults, gang rapes. It is common knowledge these things happen to women. The duct-tape claim was one that, in the overall scheme of things, was not even the worst of the story of what women have experienced at the border.

And yet the mainstream media honed in on this singular claim like a dog on a bone.

Suspended in name, ‘blacklisted’ for life

Arif Hossain* has been worried about his future since his name and photo was put on a list of “suspended” workers outside his garment factory in Ashulia in the middle of January.

He knows that even though it says suspended, he has actually been fired since he would not be paid his dues unless he resigned.

The list of 23 workers with allegations of vandalism and theft was hung at the gate of Al-Ghousia Textiles Ltd.

While workers claim those were false accusations, the apparel unit filed two cases to allegedly purge these labourers. These workers are considered to be vocal on trade union activities and rights issues.

In addition, the company had them blacklisted so that they do not get jobs at other factories in Ashulia, the workers alleged.

Simply put, the Code of Ethics would forbid teachers from endorsing candidates as part of their classroom instruction, from introducing controversial material not germane to the subject being taught, and generally from using their classrooms as bully pulpits for political, social or religious advocacy. The bill I sponsored is based on model legislation drafted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

There’s abundant evidence that students in Maine’s K-12 government schools are being subjected to Leftist indoctrination in the classroom. “Progressive” teachers, administrators, and textbook publishers have been working overtime to ensure that students practice “correct thinking” on subjects such as racial guilt, gender identity, illegal immigration, and other controversial issues.

When Omar attacks American Jews for their dual loyalty, AOC rushes to defend her… on the grounds that we have a right to criticize American foreign policy. The hue and cry of the new anti-Semitism has been so loud that even Jewish Democrats have noticed. And now Nancy Pelosi feels compelled to introduce a Congressional resolution against anti-Semitism. If her own party were not being turned into the epicenter of American anti-Semitism, she would not have had to do so.
