The core is important.
"The core of what?" - The masonic orders are something that will be unnecessary moving forward. They were a product of their times, in many ways. They were secretive orders built to safeguard trade (and eventually incorporated other) knowledge from exploitation by royalty and others. Thus the "no snitching" because rulers would use selective enforcement of the law to extort people and social groups.
Ironically, once freemasons built their own country (or largely had control over it), there was no longer a need for freemasonry, at least as it had existed up to that point… But old habits die hard and organizations that have achieved their founding goal will still seek to survive. Secretive or fraternal orders of that like would become blocks of power within the world, and power attracts those with an ambition to use it. Evil always has a lot of ambition with a willingness to embrace power/force.
Someone else mentioned the idea that the apple reference was in relation to tech/industry. That just because apple is a bad company doesn't mean their tech/infrastructure is bad. Which makes some sense - although with as much information sharing as is going on, it likely makes little difference to the end user in the market.
