Newfag here.
Maybe before trying to “tell” the story we should parse it out into its key elements. Storytelling breaks down into things like:
What is the situation?
Who are the characters?
What is the key conflict?
What is the arc of the narrative?
Even normies would say something isn’t quite right today and that could serve as the “situation” - polarization of Americans, lack of ability to discuss political issues with even a modicum of civility, Trump getting elected against all odds, the viciousness of the media toward GEOTUS. I’m sure there is lots more…
All of this likely feels weird and unsettling to more conservative normies (let’s not even worry about lefties at this point. Baby steps).
CHARACTERS: The American people, MSM, GEOTUS, Obama, HRC, other too Obama officials, Dems, GOP, Deep State, Elites…plus the big individuals we’ve discussed (AS, JC, Don’t say his name, etc)
CONFLICT: one way of thinking about the conflict is an inner one: that on some level something isn’t right. The narrative being fed people doesn’t fully add up. A piece of the puzzle is missing and unknown.
It’s a start and wanted to add this to the mix to try to broaden our thinking about telling the story.
Start with the audience’s perspective in terms of what they’re seeing, hearing and feeling and then weave the story from that context.
