When Senators and Representatives accept an Israeli citizenship, they have to take an oath to Israel.

I don't personally like Ilhan. She is a viper. But in this, she is right. It is time to recognize that Israel is a sovereign nation – not some 51st state – and we are not beholden to it. It must find its own way in the world. It is a nuclear power. We are not its army. We are not its caretakers. Except where justice demands, we should not defend its interests before world courts and tribunals. We are not its banker.

We are not linked by faith. We are not linked by race. Jews deny us except when they are manipulating us. We have to open our eyes and reconsider just who is an ally … and who is not. America needs to look at the world with a clear head, a clear heart and clear eyes. We have barely begun that process. I thank Ilhan for bringing this into the public discussion and I condemn those who are condemning her for her honesty.
